Happy Thursday everybody! THIS is my first ever post and I am SUPER excited to get started.
I learned to knit back in middle school, and though I wasn't very good at it I could make a decent scarf, which is what I was making for a friend last Christmas. I had this idea in my head to make little flowers that I could attach to the scarf but the problem was, I didn't know how to crochet more than a chain. So what did I do? Like anyone my age with access to the internet, I googled it. More specifically, I "youtubed" it. I'm a very visual learner and I needed to SEE it being done rather than being told how it worked. So I found this video and from there I was able to make my flowers, finish my project, and now my friend has a super cute scarf to wear on the rare occasions it actually gets cold here in Texas.
Even though I was super happy to have learned this I had to keep going back to the video over and over again to make more flowers, so to help out all my crochet newbies out there I'm going to put pen to paper and write this pattern out. This by NO MEANS makes it my pattern, I'm still just going off the video I've linked to.
First we start by making a slip knot.
Now chain 5
Join the chain into a circle.
Chain 3
Work 9 double crochet into the loop.
Join together by slip stitching into the top of the third chain.
*Chain 2
Work 3 double crochet in next stitch.
Chain 2
Slip stitch into next stitch. (Sorry, no picture)
Repeat from * till you have 5 petals
Now cut yarn and pull it all the way through the last loop on the hook and voila! Pretty flower!
If you want me to go over all the basics of "how to crochet" (which I think just confuses people) then just ask and I'll make one but otherwise next time I will show you the first hat I ever crocheted and all its awesomeness! Thanks so much everyone, see you soon!
About Me
- Heather
- Hi there,I'm Heather. Last year I finally learned how to crochet and I fell in love! I've come to love it so much that I wanted to share what I know and what I'm learning with others. Most of the patterns and tutorials on here will be ones I've gotten from other people and will have links to the original source. I want to have fun with this and not get too granny-ish with the posts, so if you ever want me to talk about something, ask me! I am here to teach so never hesitate to ask questions. Enjoy!
